Feng Jiu was paralyzed. Her anxiety and worry quickly turned to anger. “What are you doing! Release me! Quickly!”

Old Man Tianji glanced at the churning clouds and sighed. “Today is the forty-ninth day, the final lightning tribulation.” He looked at Xuanyuan Mo Ze’s ravaged body, his eyes filled with regret.

Feng Jiu’s heart sank. Her voice was strained. “What do you mean? Are you saying he won’t survive today?”

As if in response, a low rumble of thunder echoed. She looked up and noticed that, unlike yesterday, the lightning had not yet struck. The clouds were churning more violently than ever.

Panic surged through her. “Release me! Now!” She tried her best to break free, using her spiritual energy to overcome the immobilization without any regard.

“Chen’er, Yue’er, is it happening again?” Hao’er rushed to them, pulling them into a tight embrace. “Don’t be afraid. Big Brother is here. Nothing will happen.”
